USED OIL
Midstate Environmental Services provides used oil collection to any location you generate it.
We can schedule your business on weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly intervals where we will come by and pick up your used oil . Used Oil is collected from thousands of various companies and transported to either our Robstown or Waco facilities where we treat and blend the oil for use in our burner fuel operations.
Did you know? Each year, do-it-yourself oil changers dump nearly 200 million gallons of used motor oil. Tragic when you consider just one gallon - the amount from a single oil change - can make a million gallons of fresh water undrinkable? _______________________________________________________________________________________ BURNER FUEL SALES
Midstate Environmental Services has been a marketer of industrial burner fuel since 2002, blending and transporting nearly 10 million gallons of high-quality, energy-efficient, on-specification recycled fuel per year. The product fuel oil is marketed to as an alternative to virgin fuel.
Midstate Environmental Services can supply fuel to your locations all across the state of Texas as well as NM, OK, AR and LA. We can also supply fuel tanks at your locations if needed _______________________________________________________________________________________
USED OIL FILTER / SORBENT RECYCLING
Used oil filters / sorbents are also collected from thousands of various companies and transported to our Dallas facility. Midstate employs a patented process to recycle used oil filters. This process ultimately separates the used filter into three components - used oil, filter media, and steel.
1) recovered oil is used in our burner fuel operations.
2) The filter paper is drained for several days and then oil is removed via a vacuum pump. It is then transported to a cement plant. It is used as an alternative fuel.
3) The steel is transported to CMC a smelter in Seguin, Texas, for recycling into new steel products.
Using this type of process, 100% of the spent filters is utilizes, which allows Midstate to certify to its customers that the total filter has been recycled. _______________________________________________________________________________________ PARTS CLEANING / SOLVENTS and AQUEOUS
Midstate provides heavy- duty parts cleaner units in a variety of models to fit every customer's need.
In addition to leasing equipment, we also provide service to customers who own their own parts cleaning equipment.
All parts cleaners will be serviced with Virgin 142 petroleum-based solvent in accordance with State and Federal recommendations. These virgin solvents provide fast and safe cleaning capabilities.
We provide complete solvent exchange(s) at a service frequency determined by the you. The used solvent is removed off-site via our company-owned and operated fleet. The used solvent is blended into our burner fuel production, removing you from any further cradle to grave responsibility. _______________________________________________________________________________________
OILY WATER AND OILY WASTE RECYCLING
Oily water / wastewater is collected throughout the state . This water is brought back to our Robstown facility to our own nonhazardous wastewater pre-treatment facility.
Midstate uses a pre-treatment system to separate the water from the oil and treat the wastewater to achieve compliance with discharge limits. The chemical treatment program used at the Midstate Environmental treatment facility is effective in reducing the contaminants in the waste stream. The program consists of organic polymers which are effective in demulsifying the waste stream while reducing the sludge volume generation as compared to totally inorganic treatment programs. _______________________________________________________________________________________
USED ANTIFREEZE RECYCLING
Midstate accepts most types of used antifreeze.
We will provide customers with a drum or tank for proper storage. Unlike some competitors Midstate picks up your waste coolant at the same time we are picking up your used oil.
The used antifreeze is then brought back to our facility where it is consolidated for bulk shipment for distillation, returning it back to its original state. _______________________________________________________________________________________ VACUUM TRUCK SERVICE/ GRIT AND GREASE TRAP
Grease trap waste is collected and transported to a company in San Antonio where they recycle the waste into such uses as fertilizers and mulches.
Grit trap waste is considered a liquid waste. In order to properly and legally dispose of this waste, profiles with a certified disposal facility such as BFI are submitted, and a waste code is assigned. Midstate will provide an technician to collect a representative sample of the waste, ship the sample to a certified lab, interpret the analysis and work with the disposal company to have your waste properly profiled for acceptance at the disposal site. These profiles are typically effective for 2 years. _______________________________________________________________________________________
AST & UST TANK CLEANING / STRIPPING
When selecting a vendor to clean large storage tanks, making the right choice is crucial.

Paint waste recycling is based on re-using the collected waste and converting it into a fuel that is used as a secondary fuel source to replace coal and natural gas in cement kilns.

LIGHT BULB / COMPUTER RECYCLING
Most waste fluorescent bulbs are hazardous wastes due to their mercury content. Other examples of lamps that, when spent, are as hazardous waste include: high-intensity discharge (HID), neon, mercury vapor, high-pressure sodium,and metal halide lamps.

Computer material has a very high rate of depreciation, and there are many items that may not have a value after a relatively short time. An estimated 60 million PC's will become obsolete this year.
These items also contain highly toxic cadmium and mercury, all of which leach into the ground water table. Oct. 2001, the EPA banned the dumping of crt's. CRT is an acronym for Cathode Ray Tube. The cathode ray tube is the viewing portion of computer monitors. The CRT contains material, 4 to 5 pounds of lead, which must be recycled. Ready to recycle? Midstate Environmental is certified for MARPOL ship-to-shore transfer work, and we can supply U.S. Coast Guard-certified operations, supervision and project management for on-board cleaning,
gas freeing, and waste removal.
Midstate also provides Booming of docked ships, management of bilge waters and slops, diesel fuel, oily water and aviation fuel. With 25 years of experience, Midstate has the ability to provide service to commercial freight liners, barges and tugs, cruise ships, defense and Coast Guard vessels. _______________________________________________________________________________________ SLUDGE SOLIDIFICATION
Oily remnants of petroleum contaminated material, is first collected in large holding vessels. After allowing the material to decant, the excess water is pumped off and processed separately.
The remaining solids are left for treatment then a drying agent, is then mixed into the solids. Then covered and closed, a horizontal mixing shaft combines the sludge and drying agent into a homogeneous mixture. The resulting mixture is then discharged into roll-off bins where it hardens in a few hours. The roll-off bins are then able to be landfilled for disposal.
